Our guest is Adriana Kaegi, the original “Mama Coconut” of the influential band Kid Creole and the Coconuts. Adriana is a woman of many talents: singer, choreographer, designer, businessperson and internet pioneer are among her credits. She will soon release her solo album, TAG (from which we premiere a track) and she has recently completed a video documentary about her experiences with the band she helped establish entitled “Kid Creole and My Coconuts.”

Not long after performing at Radio City Music Hall on February 28th, ex-Talking Heads singer David Byrne will begin a tour of Europe on March 9th according to his website. Byrne is performing in support of his new album Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, a team effort between him and Brian Eno. The effort can be ordered its special website on CD, as a digital download and in vinyl,
U2’s latest offering, No Line on the Horizon is out in the US. The album is the first new one from the band in five years.

This coming Friday’s Revenge of the 80s Radio show will feature an interview with Tony Kimnan who, with his brother Chip, founded the San Francisco-based influential punk band The Dils. We discuss the San Francisco punk scene, its origins, the rise of punk and its influence on alternative artists of the late 70s and 80s. We also talk about the Dils as well as the Kinmans’ projects through the 80s (Rand and File, Blackbird) as well as Tony Kinman’s current band, Los Trendy
The man who taught us how to be “Cruel To Be Kind” and told us the story of “Half a Boy and Half a Man” — Nick Lowe — will release a new “Best of” Cd according to Yep Roc Records, who is allowing fans to order early
Canadian new wavers Men Without Hats will be one of the headliners of Regeneration Tour 2009. They will appear with ABC, Berlin (on select dates), Wang Chung and Heaven 17 as they perform throughout the U.S. between June 17 and July 16.
