To commemorate the Valentine’s Day holiday, we played classic alternative love songs of the 1980s. Artists featured include ABC, Robey, The Alarm, Modern English and Dexy’s Midnight Runners.
This Valentine’s Day, Revenge of the 80s Radio will feature some classic alternative love songs in celebration of Valentine’s Day. We will play tracks from artists including The Alarm, REM, ABC, Men Without Hats and Strange Advance.
Season 2 of the syndicated Friday the 13th – The Series TV show is now released on DVD. Friday the 13th — The Series starred JOhn D. LeMay and Louise Robey as the main characters: Ryan Dallion and Micki Foster (with Johnny Ventura taking over for LeMay in the third season).

Lux Interior, co-founder of The Cramps died yesterday due to an existing heart condition. He was 62.
Interior, born Erick Lee Purhiser, with his wife and musical partner, Poison Ivy, introduced the Psychobilly sound to the New York music scene in the mid-70s, combining elements of alternative 50s rockabilly, early new wave, punk, roots rock and b-movie soundtrack Americana.

We have refined some of the features on the Revenge of the 80s Radio website, including the completion of a second Interview Archives page, which features conversations with Terri Nunn, Andy Prieboy, Andy Taylor, Robin Lane and several others.
This week, we salute some of the great movie soundtrack songs of the 1980s including classics from fine cinema such as “Surf II,” “Revenge of the Nerds,”Private School,” “Up the Academy” and “Out of Bounds.” Other, perhaps more well-known 80s movies are represented as well.
Tonight’s Revenge of the 80s Radio sow will feature classic tracks from some of the most memorable movies of the 1980s. Among the artists we will play tonight are: Simple Minds, The Bone Symphony, Paul Young and a duet between Annette Funicello and Fishbone.
Canadian new wavers Men Without Hats will be one of the headliners of Regeneration Tour 2009. They will appear with ABC, Berlin (on select dates), Wang Chung and Heaven 17 as they perform throughout the U.S. between June 17 and July 16.

Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton was found dead in his Ann Arbor, Michigan home. Asheton’s creative riffs will always be remembered by fans and those his axe-handling had inspired. Revenge of the 80s Radio will feature a tribute to Asheton and the Stooges during part of Friday night’s show.
This week on Revenge of the 80s, I will play a recently-taped conversation with Nikki Corvette on her new band, “Gorevette,” which is a collaborative effort with super girl-rocker Amy Gore of the Gore Gore Girls. We will also feature a new single from the band as well as a new track from Andy Prieboy
