Kid Creole Announces Winners of Video, Remix Contests

August Darnell announced the winners of the two creative challenges he issued to fans after introducing several previously unreleased songs. Entrants were to either produce a video for one of the new cuts or re-mix one of them.
The winner of the video contest goes by the handle of “Chukanuk.” His video is for the song “No more magic Kingdoms:”
The top remix was by Empra Jones and E. Brigliador, who took the prize for their work on “Put Your Legs On My Shoulders.” Their effort will be on the next Kid Creole album.
In an e-mail message, Darnell thanked all of the participants for competing:
I want to thank for letting me share “the box to the left” unreleased recordings (some of them demos) with you.
For those of you who entered the contest, I am especially thankful, because I know how time consuming the creative process can be.
Congratulations to the winners from us at Revenge of the 80s Radio. Darnell says he intends to make available more music from the Kid Creole vaults.

I may indeed have won the contest but thus far all I have seen is a confirmation email and another emaoil congratulating me and asking what I would do with the money. No request for a mailing address either.
I respected Mr. Darnell greatly until this experience. It makes it a lot harder to play his music too. Stay tuned for the upcoming video exposé

Generally a good cut and paste article but you,like he, foqued up the name. Its chukcanuk. Not Chukcanuck ,not chukanuk either.

The only thing cut and used was the actual block quote, but considering the issue, I will forgive you… Have you contacted him or the contest organizer (if there is another one) about this?

The check is in the mail or so I’m told by the person he contracted to run the contest. I have been in touch with Mr. Darnell and things seem to be rectified. I’ll keep you posted.
