Friday Night’s Guest (8/8): Mike Score

This week, Revenge of the 80s will features a chat with Mike Score, leader of A Flock of Seagulls. While most of the U.S. associates the band with Score’s flashy hairstyles, A Flock of Seagulls’ music might have been underrated by music fans in the states. Score was careful to offer people a band whose songs did not sound the same every time, but still retained the science-fiction-y feel that became the stamp of their work.
A Flock of Seagulls is taking part in the Regeneration Tour 2008, which is currently running through North America with fellow wavers, ABC, Naked Eyes, Belinda Carlisle and The Human League.
While we do talk a bit about the hair, our discussion centered more around the music, which was unfortunately overshadowed by the flashy videos. We also talk about an upcoming Mike Score solo album and potential new material from the band.
