The Gleaming Spires may have only released three albums together under that name, but their musical history extends through several rather interesting projects. One of the duo, David Kendrick, join Chris Cordani this week on Revenge of the 80s Radio.
Omnivore Records has re-released the Gleaming Spires’ albums: Songs of the Spires, Walk On Well-Lighted Streets and Welcoming a New Ice Age. Each will feature bonus tracks including previously unreleased material from Kendrick’s and Leslie Bohen’s Bates Motel, remixes and other projects like Eleven Blue Men. Kendrick discusses the making of the original albums (all while playing with Sparks), the duo’s earlier musical partnership and his own work with the likes of Devo, Josie Cotton and many other stellar acts.
