This week, we will cover three major new wave stories:
- MTV’s 27th anniversary
- The Regeneration Tour kicks off its run through North America
- The Police’s last concert – August 7 in New York
We will talk with famed rock photographer Lynn Goldsmith, who put together the photo anthology of her work with Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland: The Police 1978-1983. [amazonify]0316005916[/amazonify]She had exclusive access to the trio; her book features incredible behind-the-scenes and candid shots of them. We will talk about their rise to fame, creativity, time on the road and some interesting stories. The book is also loaded with quotes and insights from band members about each other, their work and their lives. The book, published in 2007, captures The Police in extremely rare form and is a must-have for fans. Part of the proceeds of the book go to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.
IN addition, we will highlight music from each of the artists taking part in the 2008 Regeneration Tour and several new wave artists whose history and success were intertwined with that of MTV.
