The Original Lexicon of Love will appear on Revenge of the 80s tonight. ABC’s Martin Fry, who will be performing in the Regeneration Tour hitting North America in August.
We talk about
some of Martin’s influences, as well as his music and style that helped define the 80s. [amazonify]B0015YFOK6[/amazonify]ABC was one of the first big New Romantic-style bands to become very popular, as group produced several hits in the UK and the US until they finally broke up. Fry had since kept in music, but also found himself doing a reality TV show and teaching British Actor Hugh Grant how to sing for one of his movies.
Fry now leads a semi-new ABC lineup, and we will play a track from their new CD, Traffic, which is out in Great Britain but not yet released in the U.S.
We will also play tracks from great artists of the era including the Boomtown Rats, Voice of the Beehive and Monte Video and the Cassettes.
