The Little Girls To Record For Upcoming Jonathan Richman Tribute Album

The Little Girls will record a track onthe upcoming Jonathan Richman tribute album. Richman, one of the pioneers of the Proto-Punk movement in the 1970s, will be honored by several Southern California-based artists in the CD, which is currently a work in progress. Caron, Michele, Kip and the band will perform “The Beach.”

Richman is the leader and founder of The Modern Lovers, whichi included Jerry Harrison (who later became one of the Talking Heads) and David Robinson (who later joined The Cars). The Little Girls’ Caron Maso-Murray once worked as an assistant to Harrison (If you heard our Revenge of the 80s interview with Caron, you would know that already). The Modern Lovers had charted several times in the United Kingdom and was a prominent influence on the punk scenes in both the U,S, and Great Britain. Richman still performs as a solo artist and this year released to albuns “Because Her Beauty Is Raw and Wild” and “A Que Venemos Sino a Caer.”

The CD is being put together by Rock Talk Records. Other artists performing on thribute compilation include: Robert Swipe, Doom County Electric Chair, Jose Cruz and Arrested Amnesia.
